About this tool

Free AI Passport Size Photo Maker — Online, No Login

PassportSnap Pro is a free, browser-based passport size photo maker. Upload a face photo, let AI remove the background, pick a country preset (or a custom size in mm), and download a print-ready 4×6 or A4 sheet at 300 DPI — no account, no upload, no watermark.

What is a passport size photo?

A passport size photo is a tightly cropped portrait that meets the strict head-size, background, and dimension rules set by a country's passport, visa, or ID authority. The same crop is also used for school admissions, PAN/Aadhaar cards in India, driving licences, employment ID, and embassy paperwork. Most rejections come from three things: wrong dimensions, a busy background, or shadows on the face. A good passport size photo maker fixes all three before you print.

Passport size photo dimensions by country

Dimensions are not universal. The two most common standards are 35×45 mm (3.5×4.5 cm, used across India, the UK, EU/Schengen, Australia, China, and Japan) and 2×2 inches (51×51 mm, used by the United States and Canada).

How to make a passport size photo online for free

  1. Upload a clear face photo (JPG or PNG, any size). Up to 3 different people can share one sheet.
  2. AI background removal runs locally in your browser — your photo never leaves your device. Pick from 12 official background colors (white, light blue, beige, light grey).
  3. Crop to the country preset (India 35×45 mm, US 2×2 in, etc.) or a custom size in millimeters. The same crop is auto-fitted for stamp size.
  4. Sheet options: choose 4×6 or A4 paper, portrait or landscape, cut marks, borders, and how many copies you need.
  5. Print or download as PNG or PDF at 300 DPI — print at home or take the file to any photo shop.

Stamp size photo (20×25 mm and 25×30 mm)

Stamp size photos are the smaller portraits used for student ID cards, bank forms, exam applications, and Indian government paperwork. Two sizes are common: 20×25 mm and 25×30 mm. PassportSnap reuses your passport crop and fits it intelligently into the stamp aspect ratio, so you only crop once. Learn more about stamp size photos →

Background color rules — white, light blue, light grey

Most authorities want a plain white or off-white background (US, UK, India, Schengen). A few accept light blue or light grey — useful when your hair or outfit is white. PassportSnap removes the original background with AI and lets you composite it onto any of 12 presets in one click.

Print on 4×6 or A4 at 300 DPI

Every export is rendered at 300 DPI — the resolution photo labs use. Choose a 4×6 inch sheet (cheapest at most pharmacies and Indian studios, around ₹15 / $0.40) or A4 if you want more copies per sheet. Add cut marks so trimming is easier.

Privacy: why in-browser matters

Most "free passport photo" sites upload your face to a server and keep a copy. PassportSnap runs entirely client-side — background removal, cropping, and PDF generation all happen inside your browser tab. Read more on our privacy policy.
